New from GoFlight: Multi-Engine Starter Module Posted: Monday, March 8, 2010 - 19:03 The GoFlight Multi-Engine Start Module from GoFlight is designed to realistically model the ENGINE START section of the overhead panel on a 737, 757, 767, 777 or any other airliner. For sim enthusiasts who enjoy including "checklist" engine start procedures at the beginning of their flights, the GF-MESM is the perfect addition to the personal sim cockpit. And for those sim pilots who prefer to simply "start up and go", simplified engine start functions, as well as many other cockpit functions, can be assigned to the module controls. The Multi-Engine Starter Module control complement includes:
- Two 4-position knobs with GRD/OFF/CONT/FLT labeling for Engines 1 and 2
- One 3-position toggle with IGN L/BOTH/IGN R labeling for engine ignitors
The module is designed for mounting into one of GoFlight's standard rack enclosures. Thumbscrew mounting hardware is included. The module's faceplate features an attractive aircraft-gray powder coated faceplate with silk-screened control labeling. This module is available at the Avsim store. Visit the Avsim store today.

It's Your Plane - Part 2 Posted: Tuesday, March 9, 2010 - 1:32 Staff reviewer Roger Curtiss wraps up his look at Pacific Feelings Media's "It's Your Plane". "In Part 1 of my review of Its Your Plane (IYP), I mentioned that there were too many features to be covered in one review and that this would be a multi-part treatment of the product."
"It's Your Plane also offers many additional enhancements. Specifically mentioned were: Interactive Help; 3 ATC Modes; SmartStart; and Come Fly with Me." This is a remarkable product that provides great value for the investment and has so much to offer that anyone is bound to find at least one aspect (beyond the fact that your keyboard becomes obsolete while flying with IYP) that will substantially add to the flight simulation experience.

Falco For X-Plane Released Posted: Tuesday, March 9, 2010 - 14:56 X-Aviation is proud to announce the release of the most complete GA single simulation in X-Plane and we believe you will find it to be an enjoyable and immersive experience. If you enjoy GA flying or need a good GA to practice scanning skills on while working the radios and other controls, then this Falco needs to be in your flight sim folder.
Their version of the Falco is on the cutting edge of X-Plane technology, offering the first 100% fully interactive cockpit in 3D. Every knob, button and switch is manipulatable in 3D and 98% of the aircraft functions exactly as it does in reality....even the circuit breakers might trip under certain circumstances! Also included is another x-plane first, a simulation of the Garmin GTX330 transponder to make your online flying experiences more realistic than could be done previously. You can even download the manual from the Garmin website to learn to operate it...it's that realistic. There is a full complement of IFR instrumentation and a full-featured autopilot to make things easier on those long cross-country flights.
Most x-plane users have gotten so used to the inaccurate idiosyncracies of X-Plane, that they do not even know what they're missing....well it's time to get things right! We've highlighted a lot of these features in a tour video. If you're looking to just get started with X-Plane, this it the plane to do it with.

X-1 from Xtreme Prototypes Posted: Thursday, March 11, 2010 - 1:59 Staff reviewer Xavier Noche reaches for the stars with Xtreme Prototypes X-1. "Xtreme Prototypes proposes the second generation of Bell Aircrafts X1 rocket planes. This aircraft came after the first generation that broke mach 1, with the aim to reach beyond mach 2 and 90 000ft. The real aircraft reached Mach 2.44 and 90 440 ft. 3 of these airplanes X-1A, B and D were build and the 4th one X-1C was planned but never built."
"The X-1 SG from Xtreme Prototypes simulates all 4 models: X-1A or D without launch Boeing B-29, X-1A or D with launch B-29, X-1B without B-29 and X-1C without B-29. The X-1A and D models are the same. The X-1B is not very different from A and D. All the models are nice and full of details."
"The panel is technically unique as all the gauge shapes are in the interior model, not in the panel. This aircraft has a true 3D panel, meaning 3D gauges, not flat 2D gauges projected on a 3D panel: every single switch, nut, screw or washer is modeled in 3D! Even the needles of the gauges are 3D! The result is just astounding."
"The X-1 can be either classically started by taking off from the ground, though that only happened once in 42 flights, or dropped from a B-29 at an altitude above 40 000 ft. On top of this, several pre-defined flights start at a high altitude without drop. he B-29 only appears when the drop switch is armed (middle position). This B-29 exterior is fairly detailed in the exterior. The next level of challenge, after controlling the aircraft in all flight phases in normal operations, is to master the emergency situations."
"Xtreme Prototypes X-1 is a beautiful aircraft with unique performance and an amazing full 3D panel; a challenge to control in most phases of flight (but what else would you expect from an extreme prototype?). It pushes the limits of both your skills and FS capabilities."

Latest Releases From Aerosoft Posted: Friday, March 5, 2010 - 14:50 AES 2.06 Released - The biggest update for AES in quite a while and one many people have been waiting for. Airport Enhancement Services 2.06 catches up with the many scenery releases of the past few months. From small freeware scenery to major releases like Mega Airport Amsterdam. There is also a fine new feature that allows passengers to walk to the aircraft instead of getting on the bus, important for some positions on some airports. There is also a tweak to the de-icing.
Balearic Islands X (FS2004/FSX) - Now all the islands of this package are done for FSX and FS2004 it's time to make the bundle available. Ibiza, Formenta, Mallorca and Menorca in great detail (the FSX version is 6.7 GB installed!). Not only the airports are modeled to perfection but the complete islands await your exploration. The rugged coastlines, the small village and the blue sea (full of ships) make an ideal environment for a small and slow aircraft. Of course full support of AES on all airports.
Approaching Innsbruck for FSX - After the successful FS2004 version Approaching Innsbruck is now also available for FSX. Those who have previously purchased the FS2004 download version will automatically find the FSX version in their shop download accounts now. The FSX version differs rather a lot from the FS2004 version. Not only the airport is enhanced, but the whole surrounding now looks stunning. The (already exciting) approach is now also a feast for the eye. The boxed version will follow soon.
