Hi,
I have the Rikoooo A380 package installed in Prepar3D v2 and the virtual cockpit flight control unit is unclickable, in other words you cannot change the speed, heading, altitude etc. The 2D cockpit works fine. Is this a shortcoming of P3D v2 (and v3?), or are a few tricks that can be employed to render these controls useable?

I can't totaly understand the English language but I can answer to you. So, Do you have the " direct x " ON ? If you have this, switch OFF it and try again
! Maybe this package is not compatible with DIRECT X....
Or maybe one scenery is not compatible
, try to uninstall all scenery: I know it' s borring but maybe utility !
Or the Last possibility: try to uninstall this software, install it again and look if it's working
