As Ive seen, theres alot of basic issues that seem extremely complex when dealing with weapons releases and trigger pickle issues. Theres a way to find out very simply by, 1. Enter the simulation , you dont have to choose an aircraft but i would suggest you do and not the ultralight as its going to start you in the air on a default flight. once in the simulation2.Pause and go to the add on menu atthe top right of FSX go to TACPAC and drop down to BUGGING click on it and go to trigger mapping, now inthe upper right hand corner of the rectangle, look and see if there are numbers up there, anything more than 0 lus is telling you it may not be reading or acknowledging your pickle and or your trigger. This can happen with some controllers, and ive found it with pretty much anything that isnt HOTAS. Now if that is the issue go to your TACPACK setup and scroll to trigger mapping, disconnect your controller and replace it, now touch the swirl on the top right and refresh, now place your mouse on the first and touch the setup, either keyboard or stick, then touch number one and set key, repeat the process for the picle as described, then restart your session.
As you can see the digits at the top, its reading that theres an issue with the configuration, this could mean that somethings out of date, could be a hardware issue but usually the cause is the controller. Ive found that a modern HOTAS joystick is what should be used as thats exactly what is used to fly modern warplanes and its more technically up to date. Thanks to the great RIKOOOO Flight Simulation Website for giving all of us simmers a place to land.Semper Fidelis
