For some reason, the live weather feature on my FSX is badly wrong. Not just wrong, but nowhere near realistic,or even correct for some airports. Right now, most of airports in Europe are facing delays due to heavy snowfall.
For exmple,EHAM Amsterdam..in real,the weather is :
Wind 16 kt from the North
Pressure 972 hPa
Visibility: 4000 m
Scattered clouds at 400 ft
Overcast at 700 ft
(light) snow grains
In FSX,way different. Clear skies, different wind and warmer....what the hell? Is there any way around it?
The Weather engine for the boxed version of FSX is not supported by JESPEN who give you the live weather. I would assume it still does for the Steam Edition provided Dovetail have a contract with them. The service is not free for Dovetail. Just like right now FSW does not yet have an active weather engine or a third party developer you can purchase one from. The only way to get real world weather for FSX Boxed edition , is to purchase one like Active Sky 2016
I found a free weather program - it's small and injects live weather to FSX - FSXWX.
You don't need to install. Run the FSXWX program when you're in FSX.
That link works for me but I would recommend
I use it and it gives you the real weather conditions.. all the time.
You could use the free version or upgrade to the pro.
