CLS DC-10-30F Review

Unread post by Gh0stRider203 »

I won't lie, I'm a fan of the 3 engine birds. Always have been. You'll RARELY see Me in anything with less than 2 engines.

This is a really nice bird. comes with a lot of liveries, really nice detail, handles great but there's a bit of a problem with it...

You see, max-range on this bird is listed as 6,600 mi; Max Fuel is listed as 36,650 U.S. gal; and max take-off weight is listed as 572,000 lbs.

Yet, if you look in FSX...it shows Max gross weight as 558,000lbs and max allowable fuel as 32,368 gallons, a difference of 4,282 gallons.

Right now I'm doing a 6305.0 nm flight, and I'm down to 7% left. I've been cruising at Mach .82 (which is the typical cruise speed) at 35,000 feet, and took off with full tanks. Needless to say...I ain't gonna make it the remaining 4.5 hrs w/o having to refuel....

I've messaged CLS to see if they're aware of this, and am currently waiting to hear back.

Haven't made an ILS approach yet (not used to this autopilot lol it's um different lol), but I don't expect that to be too hard to do.

So far though....I'd give this bird a nice A- (yeah changed My mind lol). Once I install the one from here by Thomas Ruth, I'll put up a review on that one lol Might be a day or so as I rarely do less than a max-range flight when it comes to cargo :)

ILS is fairly straightforward on this bird, thankfully. Granted I used the keyboard shortcuts, but still lol Still no reply from CLS....
