Suggestion for P3Dv4 autoinstaller
Suggestion for P3Dv4 autoinstaller
Hey I downloaded 2 aircraft for P3Dv4 and for some reason, the installer wants to load the file into (program x (86) which are locations for 32 bit formatted programs. Lockheed installs in Program Files for 64 bit operation. The result has been no aircraft found when trying to select the aircraft even though I get an indication the install was successful . I looked into the Airplanes folder and nothing there. This is not a problem for me as I just manually install the aircraft to my desktop, then copy the aircraft folder to , my airplanes folder. But I thought I would let you know , Thanks

Hello,
May I have the name of one of those addons so I could run some test to reproduce the error and eventually correct it.
Thank you

Suggestion for P3Dv4 autoinstaller
Ok thank you,
I have just been running some test and found no issue, the installer goes into the 64 bits folder for me.
I'm on Windows 10 64 bits. using P3D v4. But I have also P3D v1 v2 v3, FSX and FSX Steam installed and X-Plane 9 to 11.
The installer cannot make mistake because it looks for the path of P3D v4 from the Windows registry were P3D v4 created its own key with the path.
Could you look into HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareLockheed MartinPrepar3D v4 AppPath
And
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARELockheed MartinPrepar3D v4 SetupPath
Tell me what the path of both key (use regedit.exe from Windows command to accès those registry keys)
Thank you

Suggestion for P3Dv4 autoinstaller
Sure, I am using windows 7 SP1... That might be an issue, I will look into it
Suggestion for P3Dv4 autoinstaller
Okay, it was a problem with windows 7 and it was a registry error. even though the download was automatic, windows 7 wanted to download to old faithful Program(x86) . I will be buying a SSD drive to run windows on soon, I have found that FSX and P3D run much better on a separate drive. Windows tends to get in the way. Thanks for your timely response !
