Bell Helicopter 47 FS2004

Jean-Marie Mermaz's Bell 47 for FS2004 includes 11 liveries. Its handling calls for careful control inputs, particularly in the hover. A clear airfield is a useful place to begin: practise holding position before moving on to sideways flight, transitions and approaches, rather than trying to correct every movement with a large input.

The real Bell 47 holds an important place in helicopter history. In 1946 it received the first US civil helicopter certification, building on Arthur Young's work on the Bell Model 30. Its civilian and military roles included training, liaison and medical evacuation.
