Overview
The Alphasim B-52 adapted by Steve Hess for FSX SP2 and Prepar3D includes B-52G and B-52H models, six textures, a virtual cockpit, a 2D panel and dedicated sounds. Use flaps for take-off, especially with a heavy fuel load.
Animations include the co-pilot, flexible wings and engine smoke, while the flight model has also been revised. The 3 November 2012 update corrects the engine smoke to trail horizontally.
Use Ctrl + W for the bomb bay and Shift + E for the crew hatch. Consult the manual for details of these controls and the model's operation.
The real B-52 is a long-range subsonic strategic bomber. Its initial straight-wing turboprop concept evolved into a swept-wing design with eight turbojets; it first flew in 1952 and entered USAF service in 1955.
