Overview
Milton Shupe, Scott Thomas, Joao Paz and Aaron Swindle's De Havilland DHC-7 combines a Gmax model, fully 3D passenger cabin and functional virtual cockpit for FS2004. Two textures and dedicated sounds are included.
Animated details include the passenger and service doors, boarding stairs, cockpit doors, tail bumper and landing-gear suspension, alongside lighting and other accessories. The model also supports reverse taxiing using reverse thrust.
The flight dynamics focus on short take-offs and landings. The authors report evaluation by six pilots of the real aircraft. This gives the package a useful emphasis on approach technique and energy management, using the procedures written for this simulation.
