Overview
This FS2004 pack combines an F-14D Tomcat, eight liveries, Tahiti scenery and the aircraft carrier USS Glenn. The credited authors are Ivan Kostic, Steve Hinson and John J Schumacher.
The Tomcat includes sounds, afterburner effects and visual and audio effects when passing the sound barrier, best observed from an external view. The carrier has working arresting cables and a short-distance catapult launch.
An icon near the upper-left corner of the windscreen opens the flight assistance. Bearing and distance information to the carrier or runway is announced.
- In “Select Airport”, enter GLEN for the carrier.
- Enter NTAA for Tahiti airport.
- Find the aircraft under the manufacturer Grumman.
The stated approach speed for this model is 120–130 knots. Its strong braking and power call for familiarisation before a carrier landing. Also check that the Tahiti scenery is listed in the scenery library.
