Overview
Wolfgang Piper’s ASW 15 B for FS2004 is a Standard Class single-seater intended for performance soaring. It represents the B development of the family designed by Gerhard Waibel.
The real ASW 15 first flew on 26 April 1968. Changes to Standard Class rules allowed a retractable wheel and, later, water ballast; the B variant received a strengthened spar for the latter change.
Cross-country flying is a fitting exercise for this type in the simulator: plan turning points, monitor the remaining height and decide when to leave a thermal.
