Brown B-2 Air Racer

sal1800’s Brown B-2 depicts “Miss Los Angeles”, the 1934 racing aircraft. Its tailwheel landing gear, fixed-pitch propeller and narrow cockpit suit daytime visual flying. The restricted forward view requires care while taxiing.

The panel combines analogue instruments with a multifunction gauge for time, acceleration, temperature and electrical indications. Menasco B6 engine sounds follow startup and changes in engine speed.

The original flight notes and multifunction gauge manual accompany the aircraft. They explain startup, panel indications and handling precautions.

Edition for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.

For a manual start, follow the author’s flight notes: battery, fuel, mixture, throttle, then magnetos and starter. A very low idle does not maintain battery charge.

The author intends the aircraft for daytime VFR and recommends good weather. The nose restricts the view while taxiing; take particular care in crosswinds.

Version 2.0 adds Menasco B6 engine sounds and the multifunction gauge.
