The new Rikoooo: a redesigned website for pilots and creators

The next Rikoooo website will bring together a new presentation for add-ons, revised navigation and dedicated author tools. Alongside the interface changes, we’re working on the steps that connect finding an aircraft or scenery to reading its details and installing it.

Finding an add-on for your simulator

The library will remain at the heart of the website. The homepage will offer access to the different simulator families and recent releases, while the catalogues will help you narrow your search. For MSFS, the choice between the 2020 and 2024 editions will be visible from the start. Aircraft with the same name can have different releases for each simulator, so that distinction matters when choosing a download.

Each add-on page will bring its description, screenshots and installation information together. Compatibility, any prerequisites and version-specific details will sit alongside the download options. We’re also working on how these pages read on phones and tablets, where images and controls need to remain easy to use.

A workspace for authors

The new Creator Area will let authors prepare their publications and manage add-on releases. Descriptions, images, supported simulators and licence information will belong to the same project, giving authors a place to present their work and prepare it for distribution.

Architect will handle installation preparation for the Hub. In this visual editor, an author will organise the add-on’s files and define where they belong in the simulator. Those settings will accompany the distributed package, providing the Hub with the instructions it needs to put the files in the correct locations.

How the website, Architect and Hub fit together

Each has a specific role. The website will be the place to browse releases and read about them. The Creator Area and Architect will help authors prepare those releases. The Hub will install the MSFS add-ons offered through that channel on a Windows PC.

FSX, Prepar3D and FS2004 users will retain their familiar downloads and installation methods. Their catalogues will also use the new presentation, with consistent navigation between sections.

The three screenshots below show the homepage, MSFS catalogue and Creator Area during development. They offer a first look at the changes being prepared for the next version of Rikoooo.
