Rikoooo Hub
Windows SmartScreen and the Rikoooo Hub installer
Question
Windows shows “Windows protected your PC” or an uncommon-download warning for Rikoooo Hub. What should I do?
Answer
Windows SmartScreen may warn about an installer that has not yet built enough reputation. A new release can trigger this warning even when its digital signature is valid. The warning alone does not establish whether a file is harmful or trustworthy.
For an unrecognized app, after completing the checks below: select More info, then Run anyway. There is usually no button labelled “I trust this file”.
1. Check the download and publisher
- Use Download Rikoooo Hub for Windows 64-bit on an add-on page at www.rikoooo.com. Avoid copies received in messages or downloaded from another website.
- In File Explorer, right-click the installer and open Properties > Digital Signatures. The current official installer is signed by BENDER Erik.
- Select the signature, open Details and check that Windows considers it valid. A valid signature confirms the signer’s identity and the file’s integrity; it is not an absolute guarantee of safety.
2. Windows reports an unrecognized app
- Select More info in the SmartScreen warning.
- Check the displayed file name and publisher. If they match the verified official download, select Run anyway.
- The Hub installer can then start. If Windows subsequently asks permission to make changes to the device, check the publisher again before selecting Yes.
3. Microsoft Edge holds the download
For a warning that the file is not commonly downloaded, open Edge’s downloads with Ctrl + J. Open the file’s menu and select Keep, then, when offered, Show more > Keep anyway. Labels can vary between versions. Once the download completes, check its signature before opening it.
4. When to stop
If the signer is missing or different, the signature is invalid, or your antivirus identifies a specific threat or quarantines the file, stop and contact Rikoooo support with the exact message. This guide does not require disabling SmartScreen, turning off antivirus protection or adding an exclusion.
If continuing is unavailable, a Windows protection feature or an organisation’s policy may prohibit it. On a work computer, contact your administrator.
After installation, follow Getting started with Rikoooo Hub.
