Overview
Manuele Villa / MVG3D’s C.R.D.A. CANT Z.1007bis Alcione is packaged for FS2004, FSX and Prepar3D v1/v2+. It represents the Italian three-engine medium bomber designed by Filippo Zappata.
The real aircraft combined a wooden structure and low wing with an elliptical fuselage section. The family developed through the bis and ter variants, as described by the Italian Air Force. Its wooden construction was vulnerable to the climatic conditions encountered in some operational areas.
Operators included the Regia Aeronautica, the Italian Co-Belligerent Air Force, the Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana and the Luftwaffe. The historical photograph shows a CANT Z.1007bis in Sicily in 1941; image credit: Wikipedia.
