Overview
This Convair Model 7002 XF-92A for FSX/P3D includes four textures, a virtual cockpit with gauges and 3D click spots, sounds and afterburner effects. It is also listed as compatible with Prepar3D v4 and later versions.
The project brings together Milton Shupe, Rick Mackintosh, Brian Alexson, Scott Thomas, Hans-Joerg Naegele, Jan Rosenberg and Nigel Richards. The pilot figure is by Jan Visser and tyre textures are by Mike Kelly.
G-force and angle-of-attack (AoA) effects require XMLTools. Install the version matching your simulator: XMLTools for 32-bit FSX/P3D or XMLTools64 for Prepar3D v4.
The XF-92A remained an experimental aircraft for delta-wing research. NASA records its official first flight on 18 September 1948, after an inadvertent brief hop during taxi trials in June. The research contributed to the F-102, F-106, Sea Dart and B-58 programmes.
