Overview
Rick Piper, Dave Booker and Saverio Maurri’s DHC-1 Chipmunk for FS2004 includes thirteen liveries. An animated pilot, cockpit panel and sound set complete this small single-engine trainer.
The real Chipmunk is a two-seat aircraft designed in Canada after the Second World War. It first flew on 22 May 1946. The Royal Air Force adopted it in 1950 to replace the Tiger Moth in initial pilot training.
Its flaps, brakes, radio and enclosed cockpit represented a step forward from its predecessor. That training background provides a setting for circuits and local navigation exercises in the simulator.
