The Do 28 name covers two distinct families of short-takeoff and landing utility aircraft: the Do 28 A/B series, introduced in 1959, and the substantially different Do 28 D Skyservant, introduced in 1966. The distinction helps identify the variants of a twin that served both civilian and military operators.
