Overview
This enhanced Douglas DC-3 builds on the ACES/Microsoft FSX model. Bjoern Kesten revised the cockpit and systems, incorporating fuselage variants and liveries from James Eden and Jon Murchison’s “Awesum4Sum” package.
Four configurations are included: standard, Viewmaster with larger windows, the LC-47 for Arctic operations, and a freighter. The cabin is accessible from the virtual cockpit, and a single-piece windscreen is optional. The VC instrument panel now uses a single gauge polygon, allowing more scope for modification.
Reworked systems cover hydraulics, landing gear, cowl flaps, continuously adjustable flaps, mixture control, propeller pitch and feathering, and the starting procedure. The landing lights operate independently.
Rain is animated on the windows and the wipers work. Cockpit sounds, a third-party sound set and third-party flight dynamics accompany the changes. Custom variables are saved automatically. Full contributor credits are in the Readme.
