Overview
Craig Richardson and Pam Brooker's Edgley Optica is a native FSX/Prepar3D model updated by Bob Chicilo. The October 2020 fix resolves the loading crash in Prepar3D v4 and v5, with assistance from TruNorth Simulations.
The July 2020 revision adds a 2D panel based on a virtual-cockpit image, radio windows and a HUD. Contact points, wheels, GPS size and position, and flight dynamics were also adjusted.
John Edgley's aircraft has an extensively glazed cabin seating three abreast. A Lycoming flat-six drives a five-bladed ducted fan behind it. The metal airframe combines straight wings, a twin-boom tail and fixed tricycle gear with the nosewheel offset to the left.
Real-aircraft dimensions quoted in the original page are 8.15 m long, 12 m span and 2.31 m high, with 15.8 m² wing area and a NASA GA(W)-1 airfoil. Listed empty weight is 948 kg, maximum weight 1,315 kg and useful load 367 kg.
