Overview
With The Experiments, IRIS offers two imaginative interpretations of the P-40 Warhawk for FSX and Prepar3D. The P-40T is a twin-seat, twin-engine design; the P-40X is a single-seat P-40E derivative with clipped wings and contra-rotating propellers driven by a Merlin engine installation.
The liveries feature weathering and surface-relief textures. Their 1024 × 1024 textures are prepared from 2048 × 2048 masters. A 2048 × 2048 paint kit retains the separate weathering layers for creating your own repaints.
IRIS AudioworX supplies the 360-degree positional sounds, developed for FSX. The flight model is by Jade Island Flight Test Center.
The pilot’s handbook covers systems, instruments and checklists, providing a starting point for learning these unusual configurations. The video below presents the P-40X.
