Overview
The IRIS Pro Series T-6A Texan II for FSX and Prepar3D depicts the turboprop trainer developed from the Pilatus PC-9. Two exterior models are included: the Texan II and the Texan II NTA with external fuel tanks.
The virtual cockpit contains numerous interactive objects and backlit instruments for night flying. The pre-boarding checklist brings up warning tags, propeller restraints and intake covers. Custom systems include the Trim Aid Device.
Rick Piper’s flight model supports spins in FSX. Christoffer Petersen of Turbine Sound Studios created the custom sound set, while DXT3 textures help keep the graphics load manageable.
The January 2019 update adds Prepar3D v4 support and a 2D panel with a VFR view, pop-up windows and custom XML instruments.
