Overview
Virtavia’s EC-121K Warning Star is intended for Prepar3D v4 and v5. Formerly payware, it is now free. There is no 2D panel: pilot, copilot and flight engineer stations are represented in the virtual cockpit.
The package uses 3D instruments, PBR materials, 324 custom animations, 8K liveries and 4K cockpit textures. The cockpit was designed and tested for virtual reality, although VR is optional.
Skysong Soundworks audio is supplemented by cockpit sounds, including switch clicks. Engine startup has a smoke effect, and crew figures can be shown or hidden. An illustrated 37-page PDF manual and Photoshop paint kit are included.
During automatic installation, you can select InDeepSchit’s alternative cockpit textures, illustrated below. The real Warning Star was an airborne early warning aircraft derived from the Constellation family; its naval WV-2 designation became EC-121K in 1962.
