Overview
Craig Richardson’s complete Lockheed Vega 5 package brings this six-passenger monoplane to FSX and Prepar3D. Built from 1927, the Vega combined a cantilever high wing with fixed landing gear.
The type is closely associated with long-distance flying. Amelia Earhart used one for her solo Atlantic crossing. In Winnie Mae, Wiley Post circled the world with Harold Gatty in 1931 and alone in 1933. His later high-altitude flights made use of jet-stream winds; he wore a pressure suit because the aircraft’s cabin was unpressurised.
