Overview
Eugene Heyart’s Stratojet Merlin is a fictional aircraft for FS2004. Its imagined powerplant consists of two turbocharged Allison V-1710 V12s rated at 2,000 hp each. The model focuses on speed, manoeuvrability and approachable handling.
The package includes five liveries, reflective textures, an animated virtual cockpit and a panel with numerous custom gauges. Cowlings and engine-compartment doors open, while other animations, effects, a pilot and a passenger complete the model.
David C. Copley’s sound set uses recordings of a real Allison V-1710 V12. The sound environment therefore has a real-engine basis even though the aircraft itself is imaginary.
