Overview
Dino Cattaneo’s former payware TA-4J Skyhawk is now free, in version 1.15 for FSX and 1.16 for 64-bit Prepar3D. TacPack is required for weapons, and PBR materials are limited to the 64-bit P3D version.
Both the front student/pilot cockpit and rear instructor cockpit are modelled in detail. The exterior supports configurable loads, guns and refuelling probes. Flight modelling draws on real aircraft manuals.
Fourteen liveries represent US Navy training and adversary units, the Blue Angels, Australian Navy, Israeli Air Force and Royal New Zealand Air Force. The package supports VRS TacPack carriers and SWS Carrier Environment X (CEX). A detailed manual is included.
The TA-4J is the Skyhawk’s two-seat training derivative. It provided advanced and instrument training for US Navy pilots before the T-45, while also serving in dissimilar air combat training.
