Overview
Thomas Ruth and Claudio Mussner’s Tupolev Tu-144 Complete Package 2.0 for FS2004 offers a detailed simulation of the Soviet supersonic transport. Four versions are included: standard, improved, NASA and a proposed modernisation that was never completed.
The package has a working virtual cockpit, a 2D panel with INS inertial navigation and autoland, and custom XML animations. The sounds were recorded from two types of real Tu-144 engines.
Read the English manual before your first flight. The many control panels require time to learn the procedures. A small executable in the Tupolev Tu144 D folder lets you change the loading and number of seats.
The real Tu-144 prototype first flew on 31 December 1968. In the 1990s, a Tu-144D became the Tu-144LL flying laboratory for a research programme involving NASA and the US and Russian aerospace industries. This provides the background to the package’s NASA variant.
