Overview
Warning: switching to another aircraft during a flight with this Yakovlev Yak-40 causes FSX to crash. Every flight starts with the engines shut down. Read the documentation before the first startup: this FSX and FSX Steam model requires time spent learning its procedures.
Igor Suprunov of Suprunov Design created the aircraft, with the FSX package by Andrey Vinogradov. Its high-definition virtual cockpit features custom 3D instruments with Russian markings and a dedicated sound set.
The 123-page PDF manual is installed on the desktop. English and Russian documentation is included. The French FS-Tutoriels guide referenced by the original page is no longer available at its old address.
The fourteen liveries are Aeroflot, Bryansk Air Enterprise, S7, KrasAir, UTAir, Life, Uzbek, Yamal, Yak Service, Sukhoi, Poland Air Force, Gazprom, Czechoslovak Airlines and Uzbekistan Airways.
The real Yak-40 is a small regional trijet. It first flew on 21 October 1966 and entered Aeroflot service in September 1968.
