Overview
Patrick Le Luyer’s HM293 depicts a tandem-wing Pou du Ciel. This small aircraft uses two-axis controls: fore-and-aft stick movement changes the front wing’s incidence, while lateral stick movement operates the rudder. It has no ailerons; roll develops as the rudder turns the aircraft.
The engine is exposed ahead of the fuselage and the cockpit carries a simple set of instruments. The wings fold using the simulator’s spoilers command.
Original French and English notes and engine documentation accompany the aircraft. They cover the controls and starting procedure. The gallery also includes a clearly identified photograph of the real F-POUX.
Compatibility
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 only. The author states that this aircraft does not work in MSFS 2024.
Installation advice
Assign lateral stick movement to the rudder as explained in the author’s notes. For a manual start: battery, magnetos, fuel pump, alternator, then START. Hold the brakes while starting.
Known limitations
There are no ailerons or parking brake. The nosewheel is free-castoring and the pedals operate differential braking. The author advises against flying in rain.
Release notes
Version 1.3 adds cockpit rain effects and corrects grass clipping.
