Does anyone know of any Concorde checklists?

Unread post by cubynx »

Hi all! I'm just wondering if there are any Concorde checklists somewhere? Just the usual pre start, startup, before taxi etc. Thanks in advance!

Hello.

Maybe this will help you.

Concorde Procedures

Before Taxi:

Turn on the battery switch then the avionics master switch on the fuel panel pop up.
Set the GPS selector to GPS (bottom right of the heading compass).
Click the total hours clock to reset it to 00:00
Turn on the seatbelt & no smoking signs & taxi & nav lights on the overhead panel.
Click the yellow caution and the red master warning lights to turn them off.
Press B on the keyboard to ensure you have the correct barometric pressure set.
In the vertical bank of icons click the radar icon to display the GPS, click MSG a few times to turn it off then click TERR to turn it on. Close the GPS if it’s in your way.
Click the auto brake switch until the display next to it reads RTO.
Click the FE icon & Turn on external power on the flight engineer’s panel. (Top right panel)
Set the COG readout to 54% DO NOT engage the auto COG. (Bottom middle panel)
Engage the reheat preset switches on the flight engineer’s panel. (Top left panel)
Close the flight deck & forward door. (Bottom left panel next to table 1 yellow & 1 red light)
Turn on the cabin display signs. (Bottom right panel)
Close the flight engineer’s panel by clicking the arrow.
Press the @ or ‘ to display the ATC panel and get your clearance by pressing the number you want. (Top row of numbers NOT the side number keys)
Set the altitude you are given by ATC on the autopilot alt selector then click ALT on the autopilot panel & read back your clearance.
Click the √ icon to display the kneeboard then click nav log and look in the 1st column and see if there are any frequencies i.e. WAL
(114.10)(VOR)
If there are tune them into radio NAV 1 & Radio Nav 2, located at each side of the auto pilot panel.
If there are any frequencies that look similar to: PS
(304.0)
(NDB)
Click the radio tower icon and tune it in to the ADF on the radio stack.
Request taxi instructions.

Taxi:

Pushback (shift + P, then 1 (on top numbers row) tail left, 2 (on top numbers row) tail right) with the Nose set at 0.
Press Ctrl + E to start the engines if not already started.
To stop push back Shift + P & engage parking brake. (Ctrl + .) Until all 4 engines are running.
Turn on all anti ice on FE panel if ground temperature is below 5℃
Set auto throttle to 10 on autopilot panel & disengage parking brake with .
Turn on the auto throttle by clicking the AT & IAS switches on the autopilot panel.
When Concorde starts moving steer with enter & 0 on the numbers pad, 5 returns rudder to centre (turn Num Lock off)
If you activated progressive taxi follow the yellow arrows to the runway holding point.
Gate area at 10 knots with the Nose & visor at 5˚. (Lower nose & visor to 5 with F7 twice)
Taxiways at 10 to 15 knots.
At the runway holding point stop the aircraft & engage parking brake & request take off clearance and turn OFF taxi lights & turn ON landing & strobe lights.

Take off:

When lined up on runway set the speed on the autopilot panel to 250 knots & set the heading to the same as the BRG reading on the GPS.
Nose & visor down at 5˚.
Captain calls “is everyone ready”
FE & FO response, “yes”
Captain calls “3 2 1 NOW”
Engage the afterburners with the throttles to max. (F4)
Confirm four green "clear to go" lights.
FO calls out V1 @ 150 Knots.
Rotate @ 180 Knots
V2 @ 200 knots
Climb at 2200 feet per minute, full throttle.
Press Z to engage the autopilot & click the AT & IAS switches to engage the auto throttle
At 220 knots set gear up and Nose up. (Nose up press F6 once, gear up press G)

Climb:

Climb at 2200 feet per minute.
Click the auto brake until the display reads off.
As Concorde climbs monitor all the gauges i.e. altitude, speed, heading & temperature, also monitor the NAV log for new VOR, DME & NDB frequencies and tune as necessary.
Engage anti ice on the FE panel when the temperature drops below 5℃ or you encounter icing conditions i.e. rain, snow, clouds or temperatures below 5℃ on the ground.
At 10,000ft ABSL engage the auto COG on the engineer’s panel by clicking the 4 switches below the COG readout on the FE panel.
At 10,000ft turn off the seatbelt & no smoking signs on the overhead panel.
Climb to all altitudes given by ATC & turn to all headings as indicated by the GPS’s CTS readout.
Make sure you return the ailevons to the central position by checking the surfaces indicator and when the orange lights are lit the ailevons are central, (ONLY DO THIS AFTER AUTOPILOT IS ENGAGED).

Altitude speed restrictions: DO NOT EXCEED THESE SPEEDS

0ft to 10,000ft @ no higher than 250 Knots
10,000ft to FL180 @ no higher than 340 Knots
FL180 to FL350 @ no higher than 500 to 550 Knots
FL350 to FL450 @ 550 Knots up to a maximum of Mach 0.95
FL450 + @ Mach 0.95 up to Mach 2.04 (monitor the black & yellow airspeed indicator needle for max speeds)

Cruise:

Monitor the centre of gravity, if Concorde seems slightly nose pitch up alter COG to 55% on FE panel.
At FL600 you will have about 69-72% of the total fuel remaining.
Monitor the airspeed indicator DO NOT exceed Mach 2.04.

Descent:

At 300 nautical miles from the destination airport start descending in increments of 5,000ft to 10,00ft, (i.e. @ FL600 request FL550 or FL500 from ATC)
At FL350 ensure the speed is no higher than Mach 0.95, (High subsonic/Transonic).
At FL180 ensure the speed is no higher than 340 Knots
At 10,00ft ensure the speed is no higher than 250 Knots, drop the nose & visor to 5˚ to achieve this.
At 5,000ft slow to 200 knots.

Approach:

At 15 nautical miles descend at 180 knots and at 500 feet per minute to 1500ft and gear down and the nose to 5˚.
Check the pitch rate at 10 nautical miles descend at 170 knots and at 500 feet per minute to 1000ft.
At 5 nautical miles descend at 162 knots and at 500 feet per minute to 500ft & slow to 150 Knots MINIMUM.

Landing:

Confirm you have the runway in sight.
Disengage the auto pilot & auto throttle at 500 ft.
Landing speed 150 to 162 knots, you should have 25% to 35% fuel remaining don’t worry if it’s more all it means is a higher landing speed.

25% to 29% fuel = 150 to 155 Knots
30% to 35% fuel = 155 to 162 Knots
35% + fuel = 162 to 165 Knots

Flare slightly for landing.
When the main landing gear touches down press F2 until reverse thrust engages, there will be an audible sound difference in the engines press the up arrow or number 8 on the number key pad so the nose gear touches down
Gently use manual brake (.) below 80 knots and roll out at 30 knots.

Taxi:

Exit the runway at 15 to 20 knots.
Stop after exiting the runway and turn off the landing & strobe lights and turn on the taxi lights.
Request taxi to parking stand or gate and follow the yellow progressive taxi arrows if engaged via ATC panel.
Taxi with the nose at 5˚ and at 15 knots or less.

Parking:

Parking Brakes SET
Visor/Nose UP
Ignition switches OFF
Fuel cut-off switches OFF
Lights OFF
Battery OFF
Generators OFF

I have written this myself according to the procedures I go through, IT IS BY NO MEANS AN EXTENSIVE OR REAL LIFE CHECK LIST AND IS MEANT FOR SIM USE ONLY!

Hope this is of use to you.
