Hawker Hurricane Mk I

Fsadni’s freeware model includes eight liveries and a cockpit built around analogue instruments. The package offers British camouflage, silver, Egyptian, Soviet, Australian, memorial and blue civilian finishes.

Cockpit and controls

Version 1.18 adds battery and avionics switches, a pitch-trim wheel and a simpler canopy control. The author also corrected the cold-start procedure and the tailwheel animation. These changes are present in the supplied cockpit and model files.

The sound is a limitation of this edition: the included player and AI banks are derived from the Cessna 152, rather than recordings of a Merlin engine. No separate Spitfire purchase is required. The author also acknowledged a report of electrical power loss after a simulator update; no later fix is listed on the author page.

Version and compatibility

This is the author’s release 1.18 for MSFS 2020, published on 21 March 2022. The internal package manifest still identifies itself as 1.0.4. That original descriptor has been preserved. One missing separator in the cockpit XML has been corrected so that the file is well formed. MSFS 2024 compatibility has not been confirmed by the author.

Before installing, check that another copy of this freeware Hurricane is not already present in Community. Two copies of the same aircraft can conflict even when their folder names differ. The original aircraft notices accompany the package.
