Overview
Douglas E. Trapp’s Antonov An225-210 “Kolos” (Colossus) is a futuristic interpretation of the An-225-100 for FSX/P3D. It represents a hypothetical simulator concept with more powerful engines, larger wings, a reinforced cargo floor, modified gear struts and modernised avionics.
For this concept, the author quotes a typical payload of 107 tonnes, a maximum payload of 301 tonnes and a ceiling written as “FL450E”. These figures describe the simulated proposal, not certified capabilities of the real An-225. UKKM, Antonov Airport, is identified as the model’s base.
The original 2009 model is by Thomas Ruth and Alexander Kvitta. Sanjay Blair supplied RB-211 sounds, Philippe Wallaert the panel, Richard Wisman automatic smoke effects and Marc Renaud camera definitions. Douglas E. Trapp developed the aerodynamic and engine dynamics, EVP modifications, effects, data and documentation for this November 2021 edition.
