Overview
Massimo Taccoli, Dennis Seeley, Dave Eckert and Michel Gerard's Canadair CL-215 is offered here in Bluebear's native FSX conversion for FSX and Prepar3D v4+. It includes a virtual cockpit, 2D panel, custom sounds and gauges, reference information, checklists and a key list. The cockpit has night lighting and animated levers and pedals; animations also cover the door and ladder and cowling details, with exhaust-smoke effects.
The twelve textures depict French Civil Protection F-ZBBV in two variants, Greece, the Royal Thai Navy, Italy's SOREM, Spain's CEGISA, Newfoundland and Labrador, Conifair-Quebec, Buffalo Airways, Spanish Air Force 431-03 SAR and 432-14, and Province of Manitoba 250.
Use the WATER DUMP CONTROL (D) 2D panel to manage water drops.
Adjust the load, particularly fuel, before departure. Total weight must remain below the limit for the take-off surface: 43,500 lb on land and 37,700 lb on water. Excess weight can make runway take-off very difficult and can prevent movement or take-off on water. Refer also to the Performance section of Aircraft.cfg.
The package provides these reference figures:
- Maximum landing weight: 34,400 lb on land or water.
- Take-off power: 2,100 hp; maximum continuous power: 1,900 hp.
- Maximum cruise: 160 KTAS at 10,000 ft; long-range cruise: 145 KTAS at 10,000 ft.
- Stall at maximum take-off weight: 75 KIAS with 15° flaps; at 34,400 lb: 63 KIAS with 25° flaps.
- Maximum operating altitude: 20,000 ft; initial climb: 1,000 ft/min.
- Ferry range: 1,520 miles with a 1,100 lb payload.
- Water load: 1,410 US gallons; fuel: 1,266 imperial gallons in 16 identical bladder tanks.
These are the model's documented reference values. A separate FS2004 version is available.
