Overview
Philippe Marion revisits Thomas Ruth and Eric Cantu’s McDonnell Douglas DC10-30 for this V3 collection. The Air file, 2D and 3D panels, gauges, textures, sounds and effects have been reworked from the “tomdc10” V2 package.
Twelve liveries recall the airlines of the 1980s. DXT5 textures use new alpha layers and revised specular reflections, particularly on metallic surfaces. White and metal paintkits, complete with alpha layers, are supplied.
The panel integrates Garret Smith’s FMC, Dietmar Loleit’s TCAS, and Philippe Marion’s VSpeed, Altitude Callout, Icons32, Brake and Cockpit Sounds gauges. Most use Doug Dawson’s XML Sound gauge. CF6-50 sounds build on Benoit Plamondon/Aeromusica’s V1 package, updated by Philippe Marion.
The author reports testing with FSX Acceleration in DX10 and FSX Steam Edition in DX9. The package also supports Prepar3D; Rikoooo adapted XMLSound for v4 and v5.
