Overview
The SHRS F-111 for FSX SP2 and Prepar3D, based on work by Alphasim, Steve Hess and Roman Stoviak, centres on terrain-following radar integrated with the autopilot. Read the English documentation before using these functions at low altitude.
The radar looks ahead of the aircraft and supports manual or automatic terrain following with pitch and roll stabilisation. The autopilot models stability-augmentation modes with separate channels. Control Stick Steering lets you override pitch or roll without clearing the autopilot settings; a control assigned to the T key returns the aircraft to autopilot control.
Four sets of 2D and virtual cockpits cover the F-111E, F-111F, F-111G, FB-111A, FB-111A with pre-AMPS avionics and YFB-111A. Sixteen textures include information about each tail number in the aircraft details. More than 110 functional gauges and switches and a custom sound set are included.
The real F-111 was an all-weather variable-sweep aircraft developed in the United States during the 1960s. This package provides an opportunity to compare its avionics configurations and explore the control modes explained in the features document.
