Overview
sal1800’s Cessna 170B depicts the 1954 model with its 145 hp Continental O-300-A engine and fixed-pitch propeller. A STOL kit adds a modified leading edge and wing tips for low-speed flying.
This edition includes bushwheel and straight-float configurations, each with six liveries. Analogue instruments and Bendix-King radios support visual flying and VOR navigation. twoseventyinc helped rework the textures.
sal1800’s original pilot’s manual covers normal procedures, short-field approaches, water operations and instrument behaviour. The installed aircraft retains the 145 hp engine.
Compatibility
Edition for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. The native MSFS 2024 package is separate.
Installation advice
After takeoff, align the directional gyro with the magnetic compass. Refer to the supplied author’s manual for starting and floatplane procedures.
Known limitations
A venturi supplies suction for the gyroscopic instruments: the attitude indicator and directional gyro only work with sufficient airspeed. The model is intended for VFR; engine damage discussed in the manual is not simulated.
Release notes
Version 1.2.1 corrects magnetic compass animation, wheel and propeller animation, and main landing gear compression.
