Global demand for the Twin Otter is such that Viking Air began manufacturing new equipment at its plant in Calgary, Canada with the initial help de Havilland Canada. The new manufacturing model is identical to the -400 -300 Honeywell outside, but with a "glass cockpit" avionics suite. Gauges used in this add-on are those of Garmin Avionics. The first customer to use this model is the Swiss company Zimex, the first delivery is expected in September 2009.
