Athens, islands, mountains and Crete in one broad circuit
This plan draws from Olympic Airways domestic routes in 1957 and turns them into a Greek tour designed for enjoyable flying.
It adds emblematic references such as Ithaca, Mount Olympus and Sparta, giving the pilot a clear geographic reading of the country.
The Greek network becomes a sightseeing journey.
Islands, mainland, mountains and Crete.
Wide approaches and contemplative flying.
Greek geography leads the route.
Understanding the flight
The plan connects domestic services to a real geographic reading. You are not simply hopping airports: you cross the Ionian Sea, Epirus, Macedonia, the Aegean and Crete.
The Avia 56 asks for gentle handling. With no flaps, approaches must be anticipated and stabilized, which suits the journey perfectly.
Before departure
- Prepare flapless arrivals with more distance and carefully controlled speed.
- Keep visibility for sightseeing references: Ithaca, Olympus and Sparta are part of the route.
- Do not overload the aircraft; the route needs flexibility more than power.
- Around the islands, watch wind and drift before final approach.

Experience tips
This circuit benefits from clear but imperfect weather: a little wind gives the approaches more character.
Keep the sightseeing stages in the logbook. They are what make the tour truly Greek.
