A short, varied and highly visual route

Arkia was founded in 1949 to develop domestic air services in Israel. Over time, the airline became an important regional operator and later expanded internationally from the 1980s.

The 1971 itinerary links Tel Aviv, Haifa, Jerusalem, Masada, Rosh Pina and Eilat, then continues to Sharm el-Sheikh and Abu Rudeis, two Sinai destinations under Israeli control at the time.
