A great circle around the world’s largest freshwater reserve

Lake Baikal is 636 km long, up to 79 km wide and reaches 1,642 m deep. In the simulator, the navigation looks simple, but the scale and isolation make it memorable.

The route uses Andrey Anta’s scenery packages from FlightSim.com: Buryata.zip and irkutsk_region.zip.

Flying notes

  • Fly low enough to feel the size of the lake, but keep terrain margins.
  • Irkutsk is the natural start and finish point.
