Overview
George Diemer recreates the Boeing XB-15 for FS2004. Originally designated XBLR-1, this long-range bomber prototype offers a look at a large experimental four-engine aircraft of the interwar years.
The real aircraft flew in 1937. Its engines could not deliver the performance expected of such a large design. Following several test programmes, it was converted into a transport in 1943 as the XC-105 and dismantled in Panama at the end of the war.
This archive footage shows the real aircraft.
