Consolidated PBY Catalina FS2004

AlphaSim/Virtavia's Consolidated PBY Catalina for FS2004 is a former commercial release now offered as freeware. It brings together two models and around ten textures depicting the large patrol flying boat.

The real Catalina undertook varied Second World War duties: maritime patrol, anti-submarine work, convoy escort, search and rescue, and cargo transport. Those roles suggest different navigation scenarios, from coastal patrols to long overwater flights.

In the naval designation PBY, PB stands for Patrol Bomber and Y identifies Consolidated. The RAF used the name Catalina, while Royal Canadian Air Force aircraft were known as Cansos.
