The Airbus A340 is a large-capacity, long-haul four-engined airliner manufactured by Airbus. It is available in several versions depending on the capacity or the desired range of action. This family of aircraft was designed with a design similar to that of Airbus A330, but is equipped with four reactors instead of two.
In June 1993, the A340 set two world records in a round-trip flight between Le Bourget Airport (France) and Auckland International Airport (New Zealand): a distance record with 19 014.31 km traveled without touching the ground, and a speed record with an average of 789.86 km/h.
