Overview

This version 2 of the Agusta Westland EH101 is a complete helicopter that can coexist with the default EH101. It requires FSX Acceleration or Prepar3D up to version 3.

The aircraft configuration and AIR file have been revised, including changes to stabilise the engine surging found in the default model. Exterior additions include landing lights on the rear struts, heat and exhaust effects on all three engines, and double-flashing strobes that reflect off the airframe.

Both radars have controls in the virtual cockpit. The pilot’s radar tracks aircraft; the copilot’s also displays airports and their identifiers, terrain for terrain-following, NDBs and VORs. A pop-up panel provides controls for the ground-track system.

The MFD and PFD screens are easier to read, with engine gauges moved lower on the panel. The helmet-mounted display has clickable switches, a timer and a groundspeed readout that shows negative values during backward flight.

Other additions include the default Extra 300 radios, a pop-up GPS, door and lighting panels, and an auto-hover gauge. Switchable voice warnings cover ground proximity, fire, low or high rotor speed, landing gear and altitude.

Put fuel in all three tanks; otherwise, the helicopter will not start. The illustrations explain several of the controls.
