Jersey Airlines, island-hopping across the Channel Islands

01

Understand the mission

Start with the historic context: it sets the atmosphere, aircraft choice and overall logic of the journey.

02

Prepare the simulator

Check scenery, recommended aircraft, fuel and weather before launching the first leg.

03

Follow the legs

Use the airport codes, flying times and route notes to build your navigation leg by leg.

04

Enjoy the journey

Let the route shape the experience: adjust lighting, document waypoints and take time to rediscover the story.

Short services between England, the islands and France

Founded in November 1948 by Maldwyn Thomas, Jersey Airlines began with charter flights between London and Dinard. From 1952 onward it developed scheduled services centered on Jersey, Guernsey and Alderney.

This is an excellent flight plan for a light twin: short legs, frequent approaches and maritime weather make every sector feel different.

How to fly it

  • Treat the route like a regional service: short climb, brief cruise, then a quick descent into the next field.
  • The Channel crossings are especially enjoyable with live weather and crosswinds.
  • When London Croydon is not available, London City EGLC is a practical substitute.
