A Pan Am route through fjords, Yukon and western Alaska

Pacific Alaska Airways was founded in 1932 as a subsidiary of Pan American World Airways, which absorbed it in 1941. Its network offers a vivid picture of 1930s Alaskan aviation.

The route begins on the southeast coast, reaches Juneau and Whitehorse, then returns toward Fairbanks before continuing across the interior to Nome.
