Middle East Airways was founded in 1945. The Lebanese airline first developed a Middle Eastern network, then expanded toward Europe; its growth accelerated in 1963 after the merger with Air Liban.
The Vickers Viscount type 800 gives this flight plan its character: an elegant turboprop linking major European capitals, Beirut, the Gulf, Karachi and Bombay.
